The main objective of the Fund and Fun Committee is to provide financial support for the parish through various fund raising activities. Working in conjunction with Fr. Murphy, we provide the additional resources necessary to stimulate social, spiritual, and academic success within our community. Every year we sponsor a parish picnic, an oyster/bull roast, a crab feast, bingo parties, monthly casino trips, and various other raffles. We also organize the annual "Bushel of Crabs" raffle. This benefits our Student Endowment Program, which provides tuition assistance for students of the parish enrolled in Catholic school.Currently, the Fund and Fun Committee is comprised of 10 - 12 talented volunteers who meet quarterly to plan and organize events. Our group is committed to serving the needs of the parish as we joyfully put the "fun" into fund raising! If you would like to lend a hand in planning parish activities, please contact Georgia Dilella.Prime TimersThe Prime Timers is an organization of and for the older members of our parish. The current group has been together for nearly 25 years! We organize bus trips, auctions, and other special events which provide for substantial donations to a number of charities. Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 12:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Members bring a bag lunch; drinks and dessert are provided. There are raffles and door prizes at every meeting - not to mention a lot of good cheer! If you are interested in joining the Prime Timers, please contact Frank McGloin.Faith SharingOur faith sharing groups gather weekly to reflect on the scripture readings and how they impact our lives as Christians. We have two groups: the Friday group (which meets at 9:30 a.m. in the rectory), and the Sunday group (which meets at 9:30 a.m. in church next to the sacristy). Both groups have around 8 members and have been meeting regularly for 14 years. We gather every week from September to June, and on the last Friday/Sunday in June, July, and August. While we ask for a commitment to attend, both groups remain open-ended. We encourage newcomers to come and see if this might be a good fit for them. Please contact Frank McGloin in you're interested in exploring your faith with us!Men's ClubThe Men's Club provides various services for the parish including transportation assistance for St. Vincent de Paul, technical assistance for large parish functions, and facility maintenance (such as construction of the handicapped-accessible bathroom in the church). Hospitality CommitteeThe Hospitality Committee serves coffee and doughnuts after Mass on the first Sunday of the month. They also provide refreshments for other parish activities throughout the year. If you would like to be part of our hospitality ministry, please contact Gail Fischer.
