Michael received the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in piano from the Peabody Conservatory, and is currently pursuing a doctorate at the University of Maryland. He has been Director of Music at the Monastery since September of 2004 where he oversees all aspects of liturgical music for the church. An active member of the National Pastoral Musicians Association, Michael has attended national conventions and participates regularly in local chapter meetings. Under his leadership the music ministry has hosted seminars, concerts, and other liturgical programming, and is increasingly recognized throughout the community for its quality and innovation. In addition to his work at the Monastery, Michael is on faculty at the International School of Music in Bethesda and also teaches courses for the piano department at UMD. He is an active freelance soloist and collaborative pianist in the Baltimore-Washington area.
